Meta
Meta, officially known as Meta Platforms Inc., is an American multinational technology conglomerate that was originally founded as Facebook, Inc. in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, along with his college roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. The company rebranded to Meta in October 2021 to reflect its focus on building the Metaverse, a shared virtual environment where users interact in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
